New bridge day

After a few long term testings I decided that I wanted a new bridge for my Tele.
So I got this sweet thing for it.
Gotoh BS-TC1 with compensated brass saddles.

Did not like the org Fender much that came with it, tried the Wilkinson with the adjustable saddles, did not like that one much either.
Cut some of the plate off, so that is was just a small one like on the GE Smith Telecasters.
Had that going for some time...
Tried another no name bridge with the Wilkinson saddles, and then with standard brass saddles....and back to the Wilkies again...

Nah....not happening, then bought this one!
This one I liked instantly, traditional Tele bridge sound but not as trashy as the org one, or too different as the other ones, this one is smoothly made and very very good sounding!

Re: New bridge day

I'm using the same bridge on my tele.
Perfect sound. Still twangy but much more nicely engineered and without the vices of fender bridges.
Best bridge i have tried for a traditional tele sound.

Re: New bridge day

Do they give you the cover when you buy those?

I never liked Tele bridges with walls on them. I hit one pretty hard one time. Ouch.

Re: New bridge day

It is indeed a very nice bridge.....

No cover, I sold mine with org bridge....had absolutly no use for it.
Anyways you can buy them without the wall, plus a model with the wall only at the saddles.

How does one hit the wall??

Re: New bridge day

I hate the sidewall on Tele bridges. But I'm not a huge fan of the modern six-saddle bridges either. Somehow it just seems less Tele. Anybody know if they make a three-saddle bridge without the sidewall? The only ones I've seen so far were fancy, an engraved Gotoh at StewMac for $175 and a stainless Hipshot that was over $100 too. I want a plain old fashioned Tele bridge- nothing fancy, just without the sidewalls.

Re: New bridge day

I'm a fan of the Gotoh stuff, I am very pleased by their tuning keys and their Floyd Rose tremolos. I never used their Tele bridge though (because I don't have a Tele) but it's great to hear that their high quality doesn't limit to the products I use and their other products are of good quality as well. Seems like all Gotoh made stuff is good! Have fun with your Tele mate! :fing2:

Not easily, but I've done it. It seems to be right where part of my hand is, and for me, it gets in the way.

Re: New bridge day

Love Gotoh as well....
Never had a bad product for them in 30 years.

Haha ok...don't get it though....anyways they make the same bridge without any walls.
Posted a link in an above post :)
