New brige pickup needed in my Les Paul

I have a 2010 Epiphone Les Paul 1960 v3, mahogany body, real maple cap, with a maple veneer on top of that. Stock pickups are Gibson Burstbuckers, 1 in the neck, BB2 in the bridge. Both are alnico II I believe. I like the neck pickup quite a bit, might leave it, but the bridge could use a little more oomph. Maybe a little more output, lower end/mids, etc.

Amp is a Marshall DSL40Cst, and some pedals are used for an added boost. Music styles vary, but let's say harder rock, to metal as much as Mastodon would be. Some blues too, but the neck pickup as is does pretty good with that style.

Here's the few candidates I'm looking at from SD:

Duncan Custom SH-5 (probably my leading candidate)
Duncan Distortion SH-6
59/Custom Hybrid SH-16 (has me curious)
Custom Custom SH-11 (not sure I want another alnico II in here)
Alternative 8 SH-15 (seems interesting, wonder if it has too much output)

Last choice would be a complete set of the Whole Lotta buckers.

Any favorites here you would recommend? Cheers.

For what it's worth, I'd love to hear what you think about the SH-5 paired with the Burstbucker.

If I go that route, will be sure to report back. Seems like a good combo to me.

For your guitar, I like the Custom. The CC is hit-and-miss with LPs (great in super strats). You can go for the 59/Custom Hybrid if you want a slightly more vintage sound. It isn't as open as the Custom, with a little less output, which is why so many people like it.

I liked the CC in my traditional pro, but not as much as the BB3. There will be a huge jump in output from the BB2 to any flavor of a Custom. The CC also wasn't nearly as open as the BB3.

I was thinking about the volume differences too. The 59/Custom Hybrid could be the better choice in this case perhaps.

I like the C5 (SH-14) great pickup for an LP.

I would think you could strike a good balance between the BB and the C5 long as you don't get the bridge to tight to the strings.

You have Burstbuckers in an Epiphone...and you want to swap them...

FAIL

Snide comment aside, those are some of the best PAF style pickups you can own at any cost.

It makes ZERO sense today with amplification options the way they are, to swap for higher output at the source of your playing: your guitar/pick/fingers/pickups.

Invest in some quality overdrive/distortion and get your "oomph" from there. Or learn to work your EQ and change your speaker system.
