Give the pickups a chance. They may not be that bad.
First thing I'd do is change the pot to a Fender/CTS 250 or 500....not sure which would sound the best.
It may require changing the knob also......vintage dome would be my choice.
Then, take a file to the fret ends and clean them up, maybe smooth out the fretboard edge a little too.
A nicely cut bone or Tusq nut makes a big difference too. Set it up for 10's or 11's.

I finally figure out how to do pics from mobile and I post it in the wrong forum, lmao
I agree and have already ordered wiring and pots/caps. But I like the pickups and the frets, fretboard needs no work. Very smooth.

My Warmoth self-build has DiMarzio Pro Parts 500k pots. I cannot remember what Fender put in the 2011 USA Tele-bration model.
Machinehead and bridge upgrades might be in order. You may eventually find the bridge/Treble position pickup a little weak. A stronger bar magnet would remedy this.
