New Dimarzio noiseless pups

Re: New Dimarzio noiseless pups

Where's the 60? I'm not gonna ask about the 59, after all, it's probably trademarketed...

Ever notice that when you put the Duncan web address in, the first few sponsored links are DiMarzio? Gee what a coincidence:grumble:

Marketing 101- The competitor is the enemy- Expect them to use every opportunity to get ahead, know what they are going to do, and do it before they do:)

Um, guys...I don't work for Dimarzio...I don't even like many of their pickups...I just figured you guys would want to know about the fact they're trying to rerelease the VV pups with new names ;)

Whether it´s true or not, I have to admit it wouldn´t surprise me... maybe add a dummy resistor on the bottom and a trademark on the bobbin height or something else useless (a.k.a. using the sheeple against themselves) and you´ve got a marketing smorgasbord ;)

Re: New Dimarzio noiseless pups

I think the new Fender SCN pickups have lit a fire under primary aftermarket manafacturers to come up with updated and improved noiseless offerings. Many of the preceptions about noiseless pickups from the original stacks and the Lace Sensor days no longer hold true. I have heard some very good things about Seymour's new noiseless strat models, and some of the boutique makers have outstanding offerings.

I have heard that the original VV was very similar to the Kinman design. Is there any truth to this?

Re: New Dimarzio noiseless pups

I loved the Virtual Vintage 2.1's. They were my favorite until I tried a set of Lace Holy Grails. Keep in mind that I've never forked out the cash for a set of Kinman's though, but I did like them more than the former Fender Noiseless, Duncan VR/Duckbuckers/classic stacks, and Lace Gold sensors.

I need to get back out there and try the new Lawrence made Fender Noiseless and Duncan stack plus.
