...Out of pocket haha. Ladies and gents, I introduce to you KS 026, my '07 Gibson KS-336.
Bought it from a U.K. composer who collects guitar. No customs fee since it was made in the States. I unloaded just about everything I owned. Several guitars, amp, cabinet, pedals, pickups. You name it. I was able to cover most of the cost minus $300. Took me 2-3 weeks to do it, but here she is.
Notes sing as much as my 336 with pigtail hardware. Very pronounced attack with the ebony board. Bends are effortless. The neck feels great. Killer flame on the mahogany back.
Little back story, I was eighteen when I first wished I had the coin for this guitar. Wasn't possible. Ten years later and I'm better off now. I hadn't seen one in about 3-4 years. These are extremely rare. Only 300 made I believe. Gibson "Inspired by Series". As luck would have it, two popped up this month. I liked 24 back then, but this guitar has killer appointments. It's essentially a 356, but with "better" tuners, inlays, and bone nut. It looks phenomenal.
Peeked under the pickups, it's got '57 Classics. Was suppose to have '57 classic plus humbuckers. I'm assuming someone changed the pickups using '09 humbuckers. Pickup covers and stoptail were dulled down and the hardware is a bit tarnish. Saddles on the abr1 are damaged for sure. I'm not too bothered about it since the pickups/hardware were going to go anyhow. Didn't bother to do a setup. Strung her up just to play while parts come through.
Future upgrades: Creamtone abr1/stoptail. Echopark Gold Coil Neck/GC Humbucker bridge. Upgraded electronics.
It's extremely surreal to see the case and have the guitar on my lap. Dreams happen gents, stick to them.
