New Ehdwuld headless day

ehdwuld

A Ficus
Got my new headless sets in

9jlGvkO.jpeg

So ordered four in new colors

with a 24.75 inch Gibson scale

Asked for the pickup routes to be slightly bigger so I could put in pickups with covers
They didn't do that at all

Asked for battery boxes installed so I could install an active boost. They did that on one only one
and Asked me to pay for them to ship the boxes to me for ME to install. Omg

Asked for stainless frets , hard to tell

They were inexpensive per guitar
But it was $80 each for shipping

Am I happy with my new purchase?
Probably not
Are they nice , yeah but not what I ordered

I do see where the issue was
I thought it may have been the language barrier
But no , it appears Richard Do just doesn't read the entire email

Which is something he did multiple times during the discussion over the missing parts

like he only reads the first few lines

Maybe they are just too busy
I don't know but I can't order anything else from IYV Guitars
At least not custom order

Oh and like i said , i ordered custom colors because I didn't like the red on black they used at all
it is kinda orangey and I want a blood or candy apple red

Sent them colors i wanted
three are fine
One with the battery box installed is that same hideous red
just like I specifically requested they not use

Just didn't read the entire emails

The pickups are not standardized at all
three of the bridge pickup are 14k ohms
the other is 16.5k ohms

One of the neck pickups is 9.2 k ohms
one is 7.0 k ohms
One is 8.1 k ohms
One is 7.5 k ohms

I'm gonna see what they sound like
and probably change them

But can't go to covers because well the routes are too small

Well, I guess thanks for informing us what to avoid. It sucks that they are doing this to customers.

Well the extorting more money for the stuff they didn't do

For rhe record
they are
BLUE
GREEN
PURPLE
AND THE HIDEOUS RED/ ORANGE

I can put the battery boxes in
They are light

the green one is surprisingly heavier than the rest
I don't know why

you get what you pay for

if I had called Jeff at Keisel
it probably would have costs 2-3 times as much for one
but it would have been one just exactly like I want it
and isn't that what we all want from our tricked out and modded axes

that's why we are here

The Kiesels are very expensive, but right now, they are pretty much all that's out there for headless builders that give you an insane amount of options. I suppose they can charge what they want, unless Warmoth comes up with a headless design.

I have ordered a Carvin back in 99
It was awesome sounding
Stunningly beautiful
Heavy as heck

Fretboard wide as an airport runway

Loved it hated to part with it
It was $1200 5 string bass

People who didn't play just had to touch it when they saw it

I love the customer experience

But I am Cheap and you know

The headless Kiesels can get over $2k easily, even with just a few options. What they don't tell you in those IG posts of their tricked out guitars is that those have a ton of very expensive options.

Dude - those are custom Gibson 50's PAF style winds! I'd check to see what mags are in there too. A5. A2, maybe some A3/4's....LOL

Sucks that you didn't get exactly what you wanted. Is it too much of an issue to send them back? You didn't get what you asked for.

I spoke to them about that in the first email after I opened the box

He only read the first line
And said I would have to send the red one back to someplace. At my expense. And they would refund the purchase price of the one.

So like I said the guitar was only $153 each
shipping was $80 each

I sent them $900 for four
They only wanted to refund the one

To be honest
they have asked for a PayPal account
To refund $40
$10 for the four boxes I ordered from Amazon
And $10 each for the labor of installing them

I don't have a PayPal account

I got to set one up

I know right

It's the light weight resonate body I believe

The thing I really enjoy, beyond the weight
is the shorter scale paired with the extended upper horn

With the headless design
It brings the playing area to a more compact stance

I am sure you have played a tele and had you left hand outstretched to the point of being uncomfortable

I have

The pickups , i know my playing isnt as nice as some of yall, but the pickups
despite the wide variety of resistance
Sound remarkably similar

Warm rich not muddy at all

so I did some pickup sound samples from the Originally installed sets

here is the Video

You know, the main issue with the pickups is that they are wayyyy to modern for a boomer to be playing! LOL

Seriously, for the price, get some aftermarkets, or even hit GFS if going budget. And there are always the amp knobs, unless you need them to sound the same for gigs or whatever.

I do have some Cheap Amazon Pickups I plan to install
I have two sets of MaxCheer ( the white half rails was $11 for the set with free shipping)

there is a thread in the Pickup Lounge where I detailed the mods I made to those pickups last weekend
https://forum.seymourduncan.com/for...anged-the-ceramic-mags-in-my-maxcheer-pickups

and a Poll on this page as to which color would look right in which guitar
https://forum.seymourduncan.com/forum/the-guitar-shop/6293250-poll-help-me-choose-pickup-colors

if you havent voted, please check it out

one cream set
one white set

when I get them installed, I will post another video with the new pickups sound samples
