Hmmm.... Engls are cheap(er) here, and there´s no Ruby Tubes connection or other questionable practices...
iI they´ve stepped up roadworthiness in the last 15 years this could be real interesting.... though I only really need 2 channels or 3 at most.... Maybe I´ll be in Frankfurt on the weekend after all...

The new Powerball actually sounds insanely good, too. I've really considered picking up a Fireball or one.

Hm... if i wouldn't own A powerball this thing would have a pretty high ranking on my list of things to get. This amp looks great but all those knobs seem a little overkill even for me a former Line 6 Vetta II user

It may well not touch the Bogner, but it'll be half the price!!!
Engl's are labelled as Metal amps, but there are a lot of useable tones to be had - thats what gain and mid knobs are for!!!:bigthumb:

Looks like a good amp. They didn't list the price, so if it's more than the SE, it'll be in the same price range as a Bogner.
I don't mind amps with a lot of knobs and features, as long as the amp's channels still sound as good as 3 or 4 single channel amps. That's the goal they're all shooting for. Lot's of companies can make a 3 or 4 channel amp, but what's the point if 1 or more of the channels suck? I'm sure the ENGL is a good one though.....they've always had a good reputation. I'm also curious to try out the new Carvin V3.

I think it'll probably sound better than an Ecstasy, but I've only liked those heads for leads, and even then I'd still use a TS-9 to boost.
For rhythm, I've never heard a very good, extreme metal tone out of any Bogner but an Uber, and even those were topped by VHT, Mesa, ENGL, etc.

I'd guess the price will be less than the s.e. and more than the savage.
model # is right between these 2 and price seems to go up the higher the model #. Also the s.e. has all of the midi stuff built in that none of the other amps (including the invader) have.
s.e. ~ $3500
invader ~ $2900 (my guess at least)
savage ~ $2200
aren't the bogner's around $3500 as well (as long as you dont have the classic mod version?)
