Is it a customized Powerball?
Id love to have an Engl. Ive heard they are great High Gain amps.
That particualr one looks sweet.
IS Morse known for his high gain sound?

IS Morse known for his high gain sound?

Well he uses high-gain a lot, he used a 5150 before the ENGL Special Edition, I think it could be said that he is known sound-wise mainly for the high gain sounds. He had excellent tone on Purpendicular (Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming, Somebody Stole My Guitar, etc) and I think he had good tone nowadays too, from the ENGLs. And, live he captured the Blackmore-era tones very well with his custom axe and the SE ENGL.

Re: New! ENGl Steve Morse head

His live tone is cool, very smooth on the leads and surprisingly chunky on the rhythm. I'd buy that in a heartbeat if I had the cash!

Re: New! ENGl Steve Morse head

I love morse, but I always liked his tone better with the 5150s. His Engls seem to have less bass and highs, more mids and crunch- not as articulate as the 5150s, but really, he can make anything sound great.
