New Fender Champion 600

Hey All, I used to post on here once and a while for advice.

I recently sold my 120 watt crate peice and was looking at getting a new amp. I love small 5watt class A amps and I was told about the Fender. I was kinda planning on buying the Epiphone Valve Junior but am not 100%. I never played the Fender Champion, anyone have any experience. the 6 inch speaker kinda scares me but looks cool.

Re: New Fender Champion 600

The only thing I wish these little amps had was atleast a 10 inch speaker. I have never played on an amp with a 6 inch speaker. I might go try to play one this weekend or next but untill then I am just looking for your experience with this amp. The Epi I played had alot of buzz which they say they fixed.

Thanks.

Re: New Fender Champion 600

The speaker size isn't an issue.

If anything it's a + because it allows the amp to be so small. It's a fantastic amp.

IMO The fender blows the valve jr away.

Ive noticed that speaker size does matter alot. The tonal diffenece to me is noticable from say a 2x12 from 4x10. Maybe with such low wattage it doesnt really matter to much though

While it may on other amps, this amp sounds as big as my 2x12...

Cool Cool, Ill have to try it out, I think Ill like it better than the Epiphone. The Valve Junior felt a little cheap how do you feel about the construction

Re: New Fender Champion 600

Build quality is excellent. I've taken mine apart and been all through it. No cornors have been cut except that it's extremely simple.

There's nothing cheap feeling about it.

Yeah, anybody else. I guess Im just going to have to try it huh.

My favorite amp of all time is the Fender Bassman 4x10 it is just way too loud and expensive for me

Re: New Fender Champion 600

It looks like a fun little amp.

It'd be a hoot to put it up next to my 54' Champ and see how different it sounds!

Re: New Fender Champion 600

That would be awesome, Ive played an original and I love them. I just can not find one in my price range in reliable condition. Have you ever checked out Victiora amps if you are a fan of the orginial?

Re: New Fender Champion 600

I don't like the lack of tone controls on any of those little amps. That said, they teach you how to use your guitar properly! And they're still too loud for apartment use even at 5 watts! Crazy little things.

Cool amps though, especially for the money. I'd get the Fender too.

By themselves they're too loud, I agree. Put a foam pad under it and use an OD infront of it, and you shouldn't have any trouble.

It's what I've been doing.

They'd be perfect for an apartment because of their size.
