New Fuzzy Goodness

I recently unloaded all my fuzzes and got this one, and it smokes all of them. I couldnt be happier. I mean, I know the fuzz face is different than the big muff, but this just sounds flat out better to me than the Analogman Fuzzface I ditched, so until i find me a Fuzzface that sounds better than this, I'll be content. I actually had one before , sold it, and regretted it, so I took the proceeds form all the other fuzzs I just sold and bought another. ;

What do you think of the Cornet, Chris? I remember being extremely impressed by Burgerman's clip.

Re: New Fuzzy Goodness

It sounds pretty much exactly like Burgs got it. I do need to get some clips up, but I had to rebuild my DAW PC (again) and haven't been able to do anything so far this year. It's easily the smoothest fuzz I have right now - once I'm back in KSA, I should line then all up and do a comparison recording.

What say you the following:

Noel Cornet
Mini Fuzz Face (red one)
Brit Bender
Mooer Triangle
Devi Ever (can't remember which just now)
Black Arts Toneworks 'Black Forest' (at least at the upper modes)

Whoa nice score!!

Love Russian muffs.

I actually am trying to find one or a clone of one right now to go alongside my Fulltone Ultimate Octave fuzz.

Re: New Fuzzy Goodness

See I had been holding off on getting an Ultimate Octave because people have told me its basically a Big Muff... Are they different enough to have both?

It is similar to a Big Muff, has that thick sound on the high strings and what not but has way more midrange than a Big Muff and is more focused sounding if that makes sense.

It has 2 modes Fat which has tons of Mids and Bright which scoops the mids for a closer big muff sound. Another benefit to the UO is that is has that octave mode that is footswitchable which is always fun for jams or solos when you want to really stand out for some lead parts or cool one string riffs. I am a big fan of the Fulltone but I'd say it is different enough from the Big Muff hence why I am looking for a Russian Big Muff too lol

Re: New Fuzzy Goodness

russians are cool muffs.
I dont really see the point in comparing a muff to a fuzz face tho. They are pretty different beasts.

Re: New Fuzzy Goodness

Man, these things cost like 30 bucks in 90's. Should have gotten a whole stash of them back in the day seeing the current prices. Congrats!
