New gear for me and the wife to be!

Went to Guitar Center today and scored some cool stuff. I've been looking for a new bass to record with and was looking for something in the short scale department. After a suggestion from a fellow member here, I picked up a Gretsch Electromatic Junior Jet Bass. It was the only one they had in the store and it had some dings on it, so I got it for $215!

Also, my fiance wants to start learning to play guitar. She wanted an acoustic that wasn't too big and looked into the classical guitars, basically because some are smaller and the nylon strings are more comfortable for a beginner. She found this Cordoba 3/4 classical guitar and scored it for $220!

More to come on each guitar, but just wanted to share for now. :D

i love that classical guitar, the wood on the side of the guitar is very charming.

Starting off on classical would definitely go a long way towards preventing the thumb-over-the-neck habit most of us probably have.

That Gretsch looks incredibly cool!
It plays really well too, especially for a bass in the $200-$300 price range. I still think it needs a little setup but it's a really sweet bass overall.

And I'm really impressed with the classical guitar that my fiancee got. Sure it's not a top notch instrument with solid woods, but for a first guitar, it sounds and plays great. If I had a guitar like this one for my first guitar, I'd still have it and play it to this day. The more important thing is that she loves it and is taking an interest in it :)
