today i went over to MAE(music arts enterprises) and was intending on buying an octave pedal. i was gonna buy one so i could use my guitar in Jazz band at school as a bass. so i went there, found out that it was almost $110 and started looking around. i realized then that i would only use the pedal for jazz band, and very few things other than that, so i looked around for other pedals. i looked at some overdrive pedals, and tried out a Maxon D&S 2, and didn't like it all that much. so i tried a tube screamer, and loved it!! i went and got my guitar to test it out there, and it sounded great again! so i bought that, a better gigbag, a new strap and some strings(10-52)

im gonna be playing at church tomorrow with this new stuff, now all i gotta do is convince the church to buy a fender blues deville amp and i'll be set :)

expect a couple clips soon.

Re: new gear!!

Way:cool3: Jim! Maybe after awhile, you'll want to take it over to John Spina for mods;); then again, you're way down south, aren't you? John is farther north.

There's always parcel post.

Tube Screamers are awesome at what they do. Mine is on whenever I'm playing dirty.... by itself when playing mellower stuff or as a boost when playing metal. If you love midrange like I do, it's hard to beat. Some people can't get over the midrange hump, though. I'll sell you my OC-2 for $40, works fine.

Re: new gear!!

My buddy purchased himself a TS9DX. There's nothing else I can say except that they sound totally fookin' amazing on a slightly driven tube amp. Run a Paul into it so it can push the tubes, and prepare to enter sonic nirvana!

Re: new gear!!

yeah, i used it today at church and it sounded great!!!!!!!

has a great crunch to it, and sounds great when i played some starfield stuff!!
