New Gibson Flying V - new pots and pickups

So just a quick rundown, got myself a 2017 Gibson Flying V T in white. Plays great but the Dirty Fingers sound too compressed to me. I'm sure half it's down to the 300k pots but in short I'm going to be wasting no time with the electronics.

So first question, am I right in saying that I need CTS 500k pots to retrofit into this guitar? I want to get things ordered today so I can work on it this weekend.

My previous V had a set of JB and Jazz pickups in there. I liked them a lot but just wondering if there was "better" options? As for sound, I am a Marshall guy and the sound I am aping is pretty much this:

So far I'm considering a set of chrome covered JB/Jazz pickups as I did like them in my old Gibson V, but awaiting any further suggestions.

JB/Jazz is a great combo! But you might not need to change the pots- some like those better with 300k or 250k pots. Don't know until you try.
