well, here it is, the new gibson HD.6X-Pro is released and available for purchase

i think weve all seen the prototypes and stuff for this guitar, but here it is final. the real question now is...

who would buy this guitar? i personally do not like it that much, but maybe once theres more compatibility for it, and the pickup system becomes a standard, i might consider it.. (give it a few years)

Re: new gibson

Don't know how it sounds, but I really like the blue finish with the lighter stained mahogany back and neck. . .

Re: new gibson

man i remember when the days when said these were going to be out on shelves, like two years ago...

They've released a couple Les Pauls since then.

I love Gibson, they've got their sh** together

^^^

Will my $4000 guitar have a setup better than a $200 Epiphone? LOL

Honestly, how do they arrive at their prices? How about $9,000, how about $7800, how about ONE BILLION DOLLARS! How about you put a $25 setup on it????

Re: new gibson

I don't think this will be a huge seller, but if I were someone who needed direct digital out while playing live or recording, I think this would be a great compromise. I can think of two members now, Tone4days and Mincer that need this or somekind of digital output.

I don't dislike the blue, but if it were offered in a more traditional look, either plaintop or flamed top, I think it would appeal to even more people. Bottom line is more musicans are recording at home or on non-professional systems. Something like this could potentially be a boon for them.

Don't write it off just yet.

Re: new gibson

Too bad Line 6 has been doing something along these lines for several years now. Maybe not string-by-string, but they've definitely got a lead on Gibson in this area.
