New guitar coming! Need pickup advice!

SO I decided to get a used Carvin DC-125. It has an alder body with ebony fretboard and floyd rose. I'm looking for a good chuggy metal pickup with nice mids. Thanks!

DD bridge and paf pro neck, good combo for metal
or DD bruidge, fred neck as well

Why don't you give the stock pickups some time (chance)? If I wre you, first I'd digest what they do, see what I like and what I don't. Then with an informed perspective (through the use of this forum) make a purchase if you are not satisfied with the stock ones. See?

Got the guitar today, pretty much sounded like I thought it would.

I've played similar Carvin guitars with these same pickups. They just don't have the clarity I want. I've been looking into Bill Lawrence pickups...the L-500 Lead is interesting....maybe I'll give that one a go...

In a DC135, I'd go with a pair of Cool Rails in the neck and mid and a Distortion at the bridge. If you find the DD too bright, switch to 250k pots to shunt some highs to ground.
