So two weeks ago I bought a used Brian Moore i8. It was nice but had some fret issues that were quite bothering. I decided to return it and find something different. I spent two hours today playing different things at Guitar Center and took home a guitar I never thought I would but every time I play one, I love it.

It's a 2006 MIM standard Telecaster in chrome red.I love this guitar. Action is great, finish is perfect, the new pickups sound quite good too. If anyone is in the market for a Tele, play a few MIM's, a lot of them are really great guitars. I'm really happy I got it, I never pictured myself playing one as I'm a huge metal fan but there's something about a good Tele that you can't beat.

Surprising for a metal fan, like you said, but cool looking Tele... I'm surprised with myself for thinking that!

Nice Tele, man. Those things are great. I almost pounced on a black 2006 MIM myself but the deal for the MIA I have now popped up and well, I had to pounce on it instead. ;) Enjoy it. Good Tele's are a blast to play. Last time I played one of those I ran it through a Line 6 Spider just for fun and it just slayed on the high gain models. Quite fun.

Yeah I was definitly suprised. I was thinking about picking up a Schecter C-1 Blackjack, but man this Tele just wowed me. It's almost like a guilty pleasure, it plays so nice.

I haven't played it through my amp yet (Roland Cube 60) but it was getting some decent metal sounds through a Marshall MG15 my girlfriend's brother has from when he played guitar a while ago. And they aren't very nice amps, I know, it was my first amp. I can't wait to play through mine tomorrow.

I'll eventually replace the pickups but the stock one's sound great so far. A Hotrail might find its way in there sometime :) .
