New Guitar: SG inside! Black korina, rosewood, ebony, Prails

So yeah, I finished this one a while back. I will add a wenge pickguard (cause the trussrod cover is wenge as well as the backplate). I always wanted an SG but I hated the uncomfortable bodyshape, the head heaviness and just well... not enough wood p0rn ;) So I used black korina for the body, rosewood for the neck and ebony for the fretboard. Prails to complete the package. From AC/DC to Black Sabbath. No need for other songs than those bands with an SG I suppose ;) This pic is its before-pic. Her current form is in pics below.

Single piece rosewood neck
ebony fretboard (24.75'' scale, 22 frets, compound radius)
black korina body with comfort bevels
analine dye and nitrocellulose finish.

y'know, my take on the 'devil horn' guitar.

HNGD :bigthumb:
Nice axe.
Especially diggin' the offset body.

Nice. I also like the offset body. It adds a nice character.

Lovely colour. If she sounds as good as she looks, you have a winner!

Nice!

How did you come up with the covers for the P-Rails? They look great! [emoji1303]

to be honest, I got the idea on the can ;) I had the covers laying around and the brass inserts were an idea i got after I cut a custom made output jack plate for a unique instrument. It was a matter of 1 plus 1

Funny... literally only a couple of minutes ago I read your other thread talking about the P-Rails. I was actually about to come edit my post here to tell you!

Thanks (I think) for the TMI answer though! [emoji372][emoji12]

Interesting build. Looks more like an ESP type SG than a Gibber. What the back looking like? Headstock?

Re: New Guitar: SG inside! Black korina, rosewood, ebony, Prails

Yeah this shape is halfway between a viper and sg but I associate it more with the latter.

I wil make a new PG today and make a couple of new pics later if it all.

i dont think it needs a pickguard, that thing looks beautiful! im assuming the hook was left over from finishing and you arent using it as a strap button

Hey Jeremy,

yeah that was my spraybooth-hook :D no biggy. I almost exclusively use Schaller straplocks. I got a set, liked it and now I use nothing else. Creature of habit I suppose.

I do felt the need to add a PG so heck, I did just so :D pics in opening post now.
