New Guitar: Squier Strat

Well I just bought this guitar off of Aaron and it rocks! Even though it's a Squier it rocks really hard!

I already replaced the electronics and pickguard with a black 3ply b/w/b pickguard with a JB in the bridge and stock Fender singles (white) in middle and neck. This thing riiiiiiiips! The two point tremolo sounds awesome, I've never played one before and the neck is awesome!

I'm planning on getting a bone nut cut for it since I already have one and all it needs is fitting and cutting. I think this has 9's on it but I think I'm gonna get it setup for 10's. I might replace the tuners but I'm not sure, they seem to stay in tune quite well with the whammy. Oh and I need a 3 ply black tremolo cover so if any one has one shoot me a PM.

Squiers can be excellent :D I'd own one (again) were it not for the limitted color choices... No seafoam etc. <_<

Never been a fan of the squires neck, but if it works for you thats pretty cool.

Squier is always good for GAS !
They may have some production tolerances, but i already tested some,
that where fine. A nice strat for the bucks.
For my taste the neck pups and the pots have to be replaced.

Yeah same here that's why I haven't had this guitar eight hours and it already has a duncan and new electronics in it hehe.

My first electric was a Squier strat, and the thing just flat out played great. Someone broke into the church I was going to at the time and grabbed the main guitarist's Fender (thank goodness I'd taken my axe home) then took it outside and obliterated it on the sidewalk. So I gave him the Squier, otherwise I'd still have it to this day.

My gf brought her dad's mid 90s squire down and it is a fun guitar to mess around on. Doesnt hold tune very well though, but still the neck its pretty good. Im really tempted to try and get hold of a cheap strat of some kind and hot rod it. Funny paint job? pimpin hardware? who knows

I just got done jammin', I did notice the tuning was starting to get out of wack after a while but it's expected. Not really digging the JB as much anymore so I think the Iommi signature pickup is going in there. Can't wait to get some after pics up, I think you guys will dig.

They have a couple leftys of both Squiers and MIM strats at a local shop and either it's just the stock they had or was just me, but the Squiers played better than the MIM strats. I've come really close to dropping the $250 on the sparkle black one they have. I've just got too much other poo going right now to start messing w/ a strat.

Mang... that looks really sweet with your upgrades. Squier's are all bad.
