So how you doing fellows ...
It´s been a whiles since my last post ... being busy with college ...

This summer im planning to buy a new guitar, as i´ve already sold my Epi´s this week ... Uhmm so gimme a little help...

I´m really locking for a metal axe... that will surely have EMGs (active ones) on it ... But i don´t have a clue about which one i should piick. I´ve been looking at the ESP´s (M-400; MH-400; M-1000 Deluxe; EX400) ... Peaveys (Rotor EXP, V-Type w/ tremolo) ... But i´m not sure wheather i should go with the classic kirk hammet body ... or try something like an explorer ...

Metallica, Megadeath, Nightwish, Judas Priest, Dimmu Borgir, Ozzy, Black Label ... thats the kind of tone i´m loking for... Also ... could anyone explain me the diference between Set-Neck and Set-Thru construction ? ...

I a guitar with a fast neck, nothing like those thin wizard necks, but neither like a 50´Lp :fingersx: ! ... Help me chose my new metal axe ...

You plan on spending How much??

If you´re looking at cheaper axes with real EMGs, take a look at the New Jackson Imports as well ;)

All those guitars are awesome, I suggest you guy and try them out to see which one you like.

a jackson DXMG can be had for not much dough and i love mine... though the emg's in it arn't active..... give it a try though u might like it

The new Jackson DK2 with the maple board should be a great yet affordable metal axe. I could definitely see myself with one if I had to have a new axe and were on a budget.

As of NAMM 2006 they ARE active EMGs (or real duncans) for most of the Pro and MG series, the JT-580LP trem has also been upgraded with a hardened baseplate....;)

Yep but the DXMG keeps the passive EMGs and possibly (not sure yet) doesn't get the upgraded trem.

Yeah the DXMG gets the short end of the stick and still has passives, probably still H3s but if it gets H4s those are pretty sick too.

If you can find an ESP V-350 those are badass too, the guy from necrophagist used to use one.

I would either get a M-400 or MH-400 just because I don't have a guitar like them...whereas I do have an H series...

Well as for Jacksons ... which of their series is comparable to the Deluxe LTD ones ? ... I mean ... Pro, MG, whatever ?

I never tried a Jackson ... and i can´t test one because im from Brazil and its quite impossible to find one of these lying in a local guitar store ...

Hows the fell of their neck ? More Wizard like ... or it goes for something mor round (strat like) ? ...

Yes i want floyd rose ... better if it is and Original FR ...

Do you find any of the RGs prestige a good metal axe ?
