New Guitar!

I just bought I Gibson BLueshawk!!!! The tone is awsome. The pickups are decent as soon as I can afford to I'll put new pups in. The feel of the neck is perfect, the veritone switch gives you tons of cool tones, and it looks so beautiful.

I would leave those in, the Blueshawk has some good pickups IMO. They are a hybrid of a Strat single and a P-90. They use alnico 5 magnets and magnetic polepieces, but coil windings similar to a P-90. A word of warning- if you want to keep the dummy coil (genious IMO), it might get kind of iffy when you change pickups. I was going to put P-90s in mine until I found out it would mean buying three of the exact same pickup. The dummy coil will only cancel hum if all three pickups share the same windings. This could get expensive. I would give the pickups a few weeks before you decide. They have a unique sound for sure. Mess with the varitone a bit. I was able to get a good Social D P-90 tone, some stratish tones, even a very convincing acoustic guitar tone (neck pickup/varitone- one of the first three pos.). I would give it a chance before you mod. I don't know if you've been to this site , it has more info than you will ever want to know about your new guitar.
