Hello, new guy here. Working on my first build or rebuild I guess. Epi les Paul Jr body, Gibson replica neck. Was origanlly a single humbucker I think then routed for a neck pup but I am taking it back to a single p90. I made a custom pick gaurd to cover the neck pick up void, do I need to put anything in the hole under the pickguard??? Thanks for any help you can give.

Welcome! There's no reason you would have to fill the hole in. Good luck on your build!

Handy place to put a low-jack unit, hide your stash, keep a little extra cash hidden from the wife/grilfriend.

I personally suggest a smoke bomb….

No need at all to put anything there.

Look at how much real estate a pickguard covers over a Fender swimming pool rout.

Thanks guys. Next on my list thoughts on my electronics: 500 k vintage taper pots and .047 orange drop capacitor. .22 cloth push back wire?

Re: New guy, first build. empty pick up space.

500k pots work great with P-90s. I love working with the cloth push-back wire. But I would suggest a .022uf cap instead of the .047uf. It saves a bit more of the upper mids when rolling off the tone. A .047 tends to give a muddy tone.

Just my opinions.

It's be a good place to store a lot of extra stuff. Personally I would just leave it without a pickguard and look punk rock.
