New home for Ruby...

Well...that time has come. Ruby is my special needs/rescue ES-335 and when I bought here she was in need of a lot of work and TLC plus she'd lived her 40+ year life w/o even a case to live in!!!

I bought an SKB case to have her shipped to my house then to Canada then back to my house and she's done a lot of gigs in that SKB case and it is a fine case however today she's going to a new home...

In the mid 60's Victoria case!!!

The case needs a new handle (it's already on the way!) but past that it as correct as anyone could get!

During this time Gibson started using Victoria cases for the ES guitars because they were long enough to hold the 12 string ES-335 and EB-2 bases (which use ES-335 bodies) as well as the thinline version of the Trini Lopez which had the long Firebird style head stock...

This case is perfect for a mid to late 60's ES-335 and I'm thrilled to finally put ruby in the correct case!

Re: New home for Ruby...

Very cool home for a fine-fine instrument..... Thank you for taking this stray off the street and nurturing her back to health. You, Sir, are a good caring man and a fine individual. Ruby loves you too....BTW

Re: New home for Ruby...

Another..gasp...he did NOT sell Ruby moment here as well.

Yeesh. My heart skipped a beat.

Re: New home for Ruby...

Ruby in her new home shoulda been mandatory!

I too thought you had parted company or was posting in the wrong section.

Re: New home for Ruby...

Nope...sorry guys, Ruby ain't going anywhere!

I just wanted an old school "correct" case for her...the SKB case is nice and in ways is more protective than the Vicky case and if I have to put her in the mail again ever or on a plane the SKB will come in handy but the Vicky case just looks so much cooler!

I found a handle for it last night and have it on the way as well...once I get the case cleaned up and handle installed I'll snap a few pics of my favorite lady in her new home!
