Yep, according to Wikipedia he's in the Georgetown Police Dept. in Georgetown, Delaware...

Ceramic8? Is there such a thing?

There is. From what I understand, most ceramic mag pickups use Ceramic 5 but C8 is a bit hotter. I have some of both collecting dust say I can't say this is the case with firsthand info because I've never tried them out, but I may have to do so to verify one way or the other.

But yes, for sure, there are multiple grades of ceramic.

Re: New Iced Earth pickups from WCR Guitar Pickups

Proof that metal guitar players who know real tone aren't out chasing mega output pickups marketed for metal.

The best pickup designs have already been discovered, and they fall directly into the specs that WCR and Seymour have known for years.
The Ice Bucker and Brobucker probably aren't too different from one another.

Amen Bro!

And you know what, I don't know if you've tried it or not. But the PATB-3 sounds very similar to what I get from a Brobucker in the very same guitar.

Its looks are all wrong, but still is great pickup. I won't be surprised if that new WCR pickup were to sound quite similar to a PATB-3.

Re: New Iced Earth pickups from WCR Guitar Pickups

The new WCR is a tweaked Goodwood. The Goodwood is amazing. However, my point was that a hot pickup wound with thinner wire brings something different to the table that a 9.0 PAF can not achieve and vice versa. They both....or all, have their place. After all, isn't that why you (Gear) and so many others who know tone don't just play the Brobucker?
