New Marshall Tube Amp Line!!!!!

Re: New Marshall Tube Amp Line!!!!!

i'm really interested in this series.... can't wait to hear those Vintage Modern cabs with the greenbacks!

Re: New Marshall Tube Amp Line!!!!!

I got a demo DVD with my Guitarist magazine just before Christmas. They sound fabulous, and I really want one.

Re: New Marshall Tube Amp Line!!!!!

They look like awesome additions to Marshall's line. I'd imagine they're chock full of circuit boards, but if they're using good stuff, that shouldn't be a problem. I'd love to see the guts sometime.

Re: New Marshall Tube Amp Line!!!!!

oooo they're running kt66s

not bad.. i'd like to try them out.

Re: New Marshall Tube Amp Line!!!!!

Color me apathetic. My experience owning a Soldano HR50 taught me that I don't have much use for a single channel high gain amp.

Re: New Marshall Tube Amp Line!!!!!

Nice, if that 50 watt 2x12 combo is cheap enough and sounds right I might actually have a Gibson and a Marshall eventually....I think an Orange would still be cooler though.

Re: New Marshall Tube Amp Line!!!!!

I really want to check those out. The specs are similar to what I was planning to build: a single input jumped-plexi with the hoffman hotmod. Instead of externally jumpering the chanels, they are internally jumpered, and you can use the volume knobs for the two channels to color your tone by changing how they are mixed together (ala these Marshalls, or an AX84 October). The Hoffman hotmod gives you the option of cascading the two channels instead of running them in parallel, which is what it sounds like these new Marshalls do. Now, if the the new Marshall just had Power Scaling...

Yeah, the Guitarist review said that everything was pcb mounted, but that it was sturdy stuff.

Re: New Marshall Tube Amp Line!!!!!

The designer of the VM, Steve Dawson is a local lad that lives not too far from me. He reckons Doug Aldrich's demo of the amp at the press launch was nothing short of phenominal!!!! He's very proud of what has been launched, as he stuck to his guns when Marshall wanted him to change a few things. He basically designed the amp around the KT66's.
