Anyone have any of the new Charvels that are MIM? Better yet, anyone have one that also has one of the orig USA or Japanese pro mods? In either case, how is the quality on the MIM ones?? Im not a big fan of the recessed trem, but.. I just wonder cuz Im old enough to remember back in the 80s when Charvel and Kramer ruled the world and they started outsourcing the name so much that they ended up as really crummy mockeries of the brand name. Im hoping that wont happen again. Thanks

I've got a new mim charvel So Cal, and it is fantastic right out of the box. I love it to death. It came setup well, frets are nice, hardware was okay (had to replace the switch right away) but the stock pickups were a jb/59 setup, and it plays great for being mim. I'd recommend them

I thought the So Cals come with the Distortion set? The San Dimas came with the JB/59, IIRC

An associate of mine has an MIM San Dimas. I have a couple of Eighties MIJ Model 3 and 4 Bitsas. I prefer the neck profile on the Japanese guitars. I rate neither the Jackson JT-6 nor the FR Special very highly.

I've only got a MIJ San Dimas. Was really surprised how much guitar you get for that price. Built quality and finish is just impeccable. Great QC.

Have NOT heard good things about them. HAVE heard terrible things about them.One guy gushing over his new MIM Charvel here hardly constitutes a safe endorsement.

By that same token you having no experience with them only having HEARD or im thinking more accurately read on forums that they are terrible doesnt constitute a reliable negative endorsement.

Yeah, the model series were amazing guitars. Funny, back then, people were mad they were making them in Japan.. HAHA.. Now they are sought after.. Ive had several model series guits and would love to have another 4 and 6. Only one I have now is a Bass.

I own one USA and two MIM Charvels. I love them all equally. I don't know why people trip over the recessed tremolo with the MIM's. My USA isn't recessed, but I can pull back on it just as much as the MIM ones that are. The necks all play the same to me.

FYI, MIM Fenders have never been made out of that many pieces. MIM Standards are 3-5 pieces, higher end models 2-3, just like MIA.
