Yeah its all me...
Drums are Stylus RMX, a wonderful groove program; fretless bass, mellotron, bagpipes, minimoog, etc are guitar synth, or guitar triggering software synths; Nylon guitar is a Yamaha classical; main melody is an Ernie Ball/Music Man Silhouette Special w/ APH2 & CC (both are used, just not at the same time!)
Recorded in Sonar 4

Wonderful mix of music Mincer...it is a very refreshing piece.
Reminds me of Steve Morse and some Beck as well, alittle Rush too.
Most cool composition for sure.
Thanks for sharing.
Suits the weather here too:D

Re: New Mincer song

very cool indeed!!! ... i love the layers and the composed flavor of some of the solo parts ... very unique and talented voice you have their, friend ... full marks!!

do you track synth lines to a sequencer (software) then 'fix' them as needed before audio playback? or do you track synth audio 'live' ? .. what about synth and pickups both at the same time for unison lines ... do you play them as separate takes

cheers

Sweet! Very melodic with some serious chops in there Mincer. I hear some influence similar to Larry Carlton, Lee Rittenour and a couple of those riffs are definitely in the Steve Morse category :)

Re: New Mincer song

thanks all for the kind words. I tend to build up the synth and guitar separately, so I can process them differently- my sound card, an Echo Mia, only has L&R inputs, so I can't really separate the sounds as they go in. Besides, this allows me to experiment more with layered sounds too. i also appreciate the morse reference, since i have been listening to him a lot lately.
