I'm new to the forum so sorry if this has been covered before but I'm working on re-fitting my G-400 Epi SG with some new p-rails, 2 vol, 2 tone push/pull's and the standard on/on/on 3 way switch. I know you can reduce the impedance of the volume pot with a capacitor? or resistor? I want something a little more open and hot on the volume but I think a full 1 Meg ohm pot might be too much, so I was wondering how I can drop this down to maybe around the 700 kohm range (what cap or resistor I need and how to wire it to the pot) I am planing on using the duncan option #2 diagram for what I mentioned above to wire. Also I've got some conflicting stories on how the cap's work on the tone controls, if the higher the value the more treble is cut or the lower the value the more the treble is cut? The recommended cap's were .047 micro-farad caps so I'm just wondering what impact a different value would have on the tone control. Any advice is greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance for all your help.
