New Parallel Secret

Greetings guys,

So while ago, I got some input into my rig, and well, I decided to take my mono, series amp, and turn it into a parellel rig, and let me tell you, wat a difference, so here's what I did:

Guitar > Tuner > Compressor > DS-1 > TS9DLX > Crate Tube amp

Line out (effects send) > Morley AB\Y Pedal >

A Side From Morley:

Straight into my Mackie 1202 Board Channel 1

B Side From Morley:

Into Alesis Quadraverb > EH Holier Grail > Channel 2 on Mackie 1202

On Mackie Board:

Both Channels 1&2 are panned hard left, and mixed to taste. Plug into the main outs Left side, into the line in on my amp and VOILA, a way of maintaining pure tone while adding non true bypass effects.

Any other input or thoughts?

Lol, ok ok, so maybe its not a "new" secret, but its new to me, and seems to be working quite well . . . bump

Sounds cool, but I don't know if I'd want to lug a mixer everywhere with me

I do a variation of that, somewhat. I run into a DBX163X first. I split its output to go into a J-Station and a Yamaha FX-500 effects unit. Both of those are stereo out, so they both run into four channels of the mini-mix on the side of my Tascam mixer, and the stereo submix out goes to the main board.

There I can route the signal out the mains to my Crown, or out the recording buss to my DAW.

But the main point is, being able to mix the wet and dry effects to achieve that "perfect" tone. It does a very nice job of compensating for talent. :laugh2:
