Been wanting a Black Lessy with white binding for a while now.... just like the shape really, i know this wont sound like a real Paul but thats fine by me.

This is an export model, so basically available to anyone outside the U.S.
My local shop has had this laying in there warehouse for the past 7 months and it escaped stock take so knowone knew it was there until yesterday when i was inquiring about this model.
So i dont have to wait 7 months for it to come from Japan (ordering time there is shocking at the moment) and they took $800 bux off it for me as well!

Comes with ESP Deluxe HSC, not sure on the gold hardware, what do you guys think, chrome maybe?

I don't see why it won't sound like a real Paul, all the stats are there... I like it a lot, ESP are sweet. I also kind of like the Gold, classy touch that aren't over the top since the EMGs are black.

One of the main differences is the thickness of the body, its a japanese standard model so the woods should be of good origin and the woods used are the same as the LP Custom but they are thinner than the LP, not sure by how much though. The also have a belly cut so theres a bit more mass missing.

Not that its a concern to me or anything, i think it will make it a bit more comfortable to play.

Yeah maybe the gold is growing on me....

very classy looking, I'll bet it sounds very classy too. good job!

Re: New Paul for me..... well sorta

Despite the missing wood, some of those ESP LPs are just as heavy as some Gibson LPs. ESPs are definitely well put together, and a great value. The EMGs are nice, but they are not the typical LP sound.

I like the gold. I don't get hung up on the hardware color as much some other folk. The one thing that I personally don't like is the color of the fret markers, it looks like very cheap plastic to me, and it looks like it does not vibe with the quality of the rest of the guitar.

Good choice. It'll probably play nicer and sound better than a Gibson anyway.

I really like my Eclipse, I wish it had the 4 knob layout like the non-US versions but oh well.

I dropped a set of SD 59's in and re-wired. It does sound close to my LP but not quite the same, it isn't quite as rich and full sounding but it certainly isn't a dud. It has a real strong upper mid sound that is very distinct. Playabilty is excellent as are fit and finish. I tend to think that the finish is a bit thick and restricts the resonance a bit but it could just be the piece of wood.

Looks great in black, good luck with it.

I have heard several guitarists live with similar ESPs this summer and fall. I wouldn't be able to tell them from a "real" Les Paul. They looked and sounded fine to me, including the EMG 81/60 combo.

Having said this, this particular guitar has both maple top and ebony fretboard. I think that you should have either or, but not both, for classic Les Paul sound. If in this case the mahogany layer is also thinner than in a Gibson the whole guitar can drift into a trebly zone.
