New pedal board is done!

Alright, so I just finished my new board and took it for a spin! Biggest surprise is I didn't mess up a single cable while making those. :P
So it's a Pedaltrain Junior with the following signal chain: Mooer Pure Boost - Boss BD-2 Blues Driver - ProCo Rat2 - Electro-Harmonix Small Clone - TC Electronic Flashback.
Also included is the footswitch for the reverb and tremolo on my AC30C2. The Flashback will be replaced by a Melekko Ekko next weekend or so.
Guitar-to-board is a 3m angled/straight Planet Waves cable with gold plated plugs, board-to-amp is a 6m straight/straight Planet Waves cable of the same kind as the first one.
Patch cables are Planet Waves Cablestation solderless cut-your-own-cable cables with gold plated plugs. Everything's powered by a Visual Sound 1spot combo kit.
The Flashback is raised by a Stagetrix Pedal riser. I can fit another one of those horizontaly between the Flashback and the Vox footy, which I will stick a Mooer Eleclady flanger and probably something else fun on in the future.

Good Job!

The PT JR is my favorite size board. I can fit just enough on there and it doesn't take up too much space!

I soooo need to get a new cable set for my board, it's a mish-mosh of patch cables right now.

Thanks a lot! :)
I can really recommend the Planet Waves kit I used. Enough material for 5 cables, which seem to be pretty standard for these kinds of cable kits, and I still got about half of the bulk cable left. And it cost me about half of what Lava Cables' kit with gold plated plugs costs, for instance. Not to mention it was less work than Lava's stuff (dunno about George L and other makers tho).

Re: New pedal board is done!

Just an awesome tasty board!

Loud, grit, dirt, swirl, delay, verb and two channels!

That's 6 levels of dirt plus a boost and all the ambience you might want!

Very zen. I dig it. I gotta make one of those little slat racks!!!

Re: New pedal board is done!

The only advantage to the lavas for me would be my need to get the pedals really close together. i have 9 pedals on my Jr (including a volume pedal) and i need to get them tight. I use mostly axkisser pancake patch cables, but even they aren't as small as the Lava mini elc.

Thanks for the kind words! My dirt works like this tho: It's a one channel amp (Vox AC30C2 - the footswitch is for reverb and tremolo). I use the Boss for my basic medium gain crunchy rhythm sound and boost it with either the Mooer for a clean volume boost (also for boosting clean sounds without overdriving it) with a wee bit of extra bass and treble dialed in for some oomph, or with the Rat for higher gain.
The Rat is set slightly louder and with more gain, for higher gain rhythm sounds or solos from clean. I boost it with the Boss, since kicking in the Mooer barely affects the sound.

Re: New pedal board is done!

how do you like the Rat ? I have never played one but hear they can get good fuzzy distortion tones .. I was looking at the mooer version of the rat

Re: New pedal board is done!

Nice looking pedalboard! Wish I could convince myself into investing in a PT but I do have fun building 'em too.

SFTD: Speaking for myself the Rat is one of my all time favorite dirt pedals. Perfect cross between distortion and fuzz. Been considering building myself one just for nostalgic reasons.

Re: New pedal board is done!

I love my Rat, had it for years! Actually the only distortion pedal I've ever owned and I'm not planning on replacing it, except with a new one if this one breaks down.
Fyi, it's just the actual board and cables that are new. The Rat, Small Clone and Flashback I've had for several years, and the BD-2 and Mooer are about 1 month old or so. The only brand new pedal on this board is the Vox footswitch. :P

Re: New pedal board is done!

Great looking board; drive, boost, modulation, delay ... that covers it quite well! My boards are never 'complete' which is why I don't post about them any longer. I have afar too many pedals to fit on either of them and I swap them out as needed.

Edit: your board is like mine in that I don't keep a tuner on my boards either.

Re: New pedal board is done!

cool, I dig the rat and flashback, small size of the Mooer and pedalboard, and that you put your amp controller on the pedalboard :)

Re: New pedal board is done!

Very cool.
Does the pedal train jr come with a hard case?
I'm thinking about putting together a second board for trippier more experimental stuff and was wondering about those. For a pedal chain i would probably not use live but mainly for studio, etc.

BTW the only problem with your board is you still have some space left on it
:-p

It comes with either a flightcase or a softcase. I got the softcase for mine, seeing as part of the reason I got the Pedaltrain was due to the portability of it compared to my old Gator board (heavy as heck and a severe lack of shoulder strap on the bag).
And yeah, I might stick something in the gap there in the future. Been looking at Mooer's flanger and I would probably be able to fit something more in there. :P

Re: New pedal board is done!

Thanks for the info. BTW I have one of those flashbacks too - pretty nice delay in a compact case.

Re: New pedal board is done!

With pedal connectors like this Mooer one, you could fit a ton of Mooer pedals on that mini pedalboard:
