Finally pulled the trigger on a second delay.


I went round and round on cheap crap like a Rogue or Modtone

Saw a few deals on a Garagetone or BBE Two Timer and Rocktron Short Timer (and still might grab one).

Just wasn't feeling the need for a Line6 DL4 or Vox TimeLab yet.

But it finally came down to an Ibanez AD-9 or my newest addition:




Really looking forward to this! Reverbs, Delays, and Combos!!!! And it can even serve as a vocal processor for some plate/delay on my acoustic board in a pinch. I considered getting the Behringer version, but at 60 bones on the low side - it was over half way to this beauty. Just had to be patient. These go all day for 140-160. I managed to get it for just over 100 + free shipping!

The RV-3 is just an epic great Boss Pedal. I have no idea why they stopped making it unless it was cutting into the delay business.

They should have:

DD-3
RV-2 (or just something with a couple of rooms, a hall and a plate)

Then - DD-7 mega delay
RV-5 Mega verb

Then….

RD-3 This pedal. Delays, Verbs, and combos

Whoa that thing is awesome, I didn't even know it exsisted. Does it have options to choose verb, delay, or both?

Heh... I've got a new delay arriving today, too... must be something in the water around here.

I went with a Joyo - my wife and son gave me a Ditto Looper X2 for Father's Day, my Mom gave me a gift certificate to Amazon. Therefor - delay pedal. Woot.

Wicked. I have the Alter Ego x4 in bound and I'm dying from the anticipation. You can never have too many delays.

+1 Awesome score, I wanna know more about it too.

EDIT: BTW Ace that Garagetone tends to emulate a analog delay, the repeats will be darker. So unless your looking for slapback delay it might not suit you well. In it's place there is the Digitech Digidelay, now that will work just fine for bright long repeats or the old DD3 too

I had one years ago and sold it not long after buying it, I remember thinking at the time it was a jack of all trades but master of none. But of it works for others that's great.

Mode 1-3 = short / medium / long delays (up to 1 second)

Mode 4-6 = Delay + Room, delay + Hall, Delay + Plate

Mode 7-10 = Room 1 / Room 2 / Hall / Plate

Verbs sound great, delays sound great, verb-delay combos are solid.

NICE! If I wasn't super happy with my Timeline I'd be very interested in the Alter Ego X4. That thing looks like it's got some incredible tones in it. Enjoy, dude.

I too have a delay* pedal incoming, though not today. I've wanted it for a long time and it should be a lot of fun.









*It's also a reverb, pitch shifter, chorus, flanger, phaser, rotary emulator, and a bunch of other things. But it definitely does delay haha

BOSS has an annoying habit of discontinuing interesting pedals from its range and continuing with boring perennials that, IMHO, should have received updates years ago.

that pedal is great. way better than the rv5 that replaced it.
