New pedal for me.

Ok so im looking for a new overdrive pedal. I already have a TS808 which I am very very happy with but I like to have a very wide varity of gain to choose from. Im looking for somthing very different from the tube screamer. So I have a list of options that I have seen and liked. Recomend some if you like.
Da list:
Boss Super Drive with Stardeluxers more marshall like mod
Carl Martin PlexiTone (this is the one im really leaning towards but whats this about needing the right amp?)
Carl Martin Drive n' Boost

Opions on any of these pedals would be lovely.

Re: New pedal for me.

Also take a look at the HomeBrew Big D and of course the Fulltone OCD. I own both and they are keepers! The Big D is pretty versatile and neither pedal is TS9 like....

Re: New pedal for me.

Im looking for a something that can do mild gain and also some crunch and preferbly have a boost switch so im thinking the plexitone is still where im headed.

Well that is the whole point!!
You cannot expect a mere pedal to sound any better or that much different from the thing that is amplifying it.
I sometimes gets the most odd mails regarding the pedal!
The mids on an old Marshall is located at a different place than most Fenders are.
The Plexi is voiced with alot of uppermids, made with clarity in mind, has a big lowend too, therefore it likes amps that are the same way, they blend together and all is good.
Use some amp with alot of low mids and more bark the experience will become something different...not always worth the while!
Some uses alot of eq'ing, that can yield useable results, but I do not like the sound much, gets too artificial to me, that is why the Plexi is so simple, use a good base and the sound will be there, use a more questionable base and the sound will suffer more in regards to sounding Marshally.
I am not saying that it hates other amps, it does not, but for that more Marshall like vibe use a British voiced amp and speakers.

Re: New pedal for me.

Well I got a peavey valve king which uses 6l6's and I got a Emenice Govoner speaker (which has the British flag on the back) so is this a reasonable base?

Re: New pedal for me.

I've been looking at the Fulldrive II Mosfet for a while now. It's an od with extra switchable boost.

Re: New pedal for me.

Im looking for more of a distortion kinda deal. Cause i use my tube srcreamer for over drive and Im 100% satisfyed with my over drive.

Re: New pedal for me.

I have`nt tested the C M plexitone so i have to give a vote for the vox bulldog!
I have it and love it:)
Ohhhh.....i did`nt see your list hahahahahhaha sorry
