New pickup design, hand UNwound

I got a pickup in that kramer and its TOOOOO much. It looks cool so i thought ide unwind it to what i like. It started at 15.8k so far ive unwound one coil down to 5.7 im gona get em both down to 5.5 then it should be where i want.

I should of recorded a file before and after but like always i never thought to do it i just jump in and start tearing it apart.

good job,
lots of unwound pups here, if ya break the wire and can't find it,--use a tooth brush to scoot it up.. -- if the wire gets caught in the wraps under the bobbin -- well then its done-- ya have to stop there-- or risk breaking it off -deep under the wraps

Thats cool, i didnt think anyone would put the time into it like i did. I should of known. It sucked it took me about an hour per coil. I got one down to 5.4 and one to 5.6 so it worked out to 11.01 now i gotta put it in the guitar and try it out.

dang what a dud, it sounds like crap. When i was taking it apart the magnet broke in half, the 1 parts that broke wouldnt ftick back together, i put the 2 that would fit together to make the whole, do you think thats why it sounds bad? It was glued to the poles so i tried to tap it off with the screw driver handle and it cracked in half.
