New pickup dilemma for old MIM Jazz Bass

Re: New pickup dilemma for old MIM Jazz Bass

Pics of said bass?

As soon s it is done. I measured the pickups a few times to see if they were, indeed, the same size, since I'd never heard of that before I researched it. But yup, some of the cheaper MIM and Squiers have that lovely feature.

@GD. Did you ever resolve this matter?

I recently had a shock. I bought a pair of pre-owned EMG-JV pickups to go in a pre-owned Squier VM J Bass. The bugger only went and sounded more "Fender" than my American Standard Jazz Bass with SD Active EQ pickups. (All change!)

Contact EMG to enquire whether the -JV can be purchased in an equal lengths pair. If not, two -SJV pickups will do the business. (The polepiece to string alignment isn't that good on the -SJV, -LJV pair anyway.)

They do actually make a set called the EMG-MJ set.

Not resolved due to other financial priorities. Kids and all, ya know? LOL

Dur... I missed the V part. I'm sure I could find a couple of them. There's one listed on Reverb right now.
