New project guitar. Pics inside (unknown strat copy content)

My day was pretty much crap, one of the worst days i can remember.
I decided to take a walk and see if I could clear my head, I run into a friend of mine that tells me he's selling a strat copy for 50 bucks.
For that price i might as well check it out, according to him the only problem was a broken nut and some rust here and there, the headstock was in a bad shape and it had some fretboard and fret wear.
He shows me the guitar and it seemed to be an ash body, with a weird bridge and a WTF headstock..I figured for 50 bucks I couldn't even get a strat body so what the hell.
I actually like the way it looks, it's not too heavy (a bit lighter than my alder strat), the tuners look like crap, but I have some lying around, I also have pickups that have no guitar, the only thing I don't have is a nut (I'll get/make one on the weekend).

Does anyone ever saw a headstock like this? Or a bridge like this? And the pickups have a little metal place under them (see pic). I'm curious about it
Enough boring text, it's time for pics:

It seems to be Fenix, a Japanese company formed in the 80's : http://www.whitstableguitars.co.uk/fenix strat 001.jpg

E: that bridge is freaky, though.

Well spotted.
The headstock looks the same.
The bridge is crazy looking, I really don't get it, the huge chunk of metal is removable. The bridge is somewhat heavy for a vintage style, and after doing a minor setup seems very smooth.

Ya, not bad for $50. I bet with a new nut, fret dress and setup, it would be a good player, oh and some duncans :)

Full of win.

I'd say have someone go over the neck and fretwork (cleaning, dressing), replace the nut, replace the pickups and electronics altogether (SD's Strat-style pickups to me are unrivaled) and you just might have yourself a fine little 'ol axe there.
