New PRS Day!

There's a bit of a story behind this one.

As some of you may know, I run a review site here in NZ, so I have some good friends among the local retailers who support my website by lending me gear to review.

This guitar was stolen from a store, though eventually it was recovered when the idiots tried to sell it on our local equivalent of eBay. Long story short, the insurance company had already paid out on it, but my friend who is the guitar product manager for the company liked it so much that he ended up buying it off them.

However, as you can imagine, a guy in his position has waaay too many toys anyway, so recently he decided to move it on - and I bought it!

It's a bit different - Emerald Green apparently is one of the most difficult finishes to sell, and the flame isn't the most uniform or striking - but I think it has character, and damn this monster sounds amazing.

I can't imagine why that color is so hard to sell, it's always been my favorite. Like this one:

Or even this nicely worn vintage example:

Yum yum.

Re: New PRS Day!

Don't understand why green would be hard to sell. Last year blue was on the top of the PRS best seller list, for me if it's not a Lake Placid Blue Metallic (preferably on a strat) I'm not Interested.
For years I've been looking forward to a day when circumstances allow me a Green CE-22.... though lately I'm leaning towards purple.

Thats freaking gorgeous! Yeah, the figuring isnt as uniform as Ive seen on PRS' but it looks great in the center!

Re: New PRS Day!

Guitar companies often express frustration at sales of green guitars. Both PRS and EBMM have discontinued emerald green for that reason.

I have a green Axis and a green Custom 24. :naughty:

Re: New PRS Day!

Haha! Thanks a lot for showing me that green custom, I've just bought a 2013 Custom 22 in Amethyst with a natural back but it was a toss up between that and a jade Custom 22. Maybe I should've got both haha!
Nice score anyway. I kinda prefer the non 10 tops. Sometimes they look a bit too blingy and perfect. I agree when you say they have character.

Re: New PRS Day!

You don't how envious I am of you right now. I kid you not their is a green PRS C24 sitting at GC right now that I want but don't have the cash.

Re: New PRS Day!

Great guitar. Congrats. And green is my favorite color and the hardest to find on a guitar in stores. Whenever I do find one- even online- it's usually pricey. Looks great though.

Re: New PRS Day!

Too true. I've owned a LOT of guitars over the years, but I think only two of them have been green - funnily enough the one before this was a Custom 24 with a lovely 10 top quilt, but it didn't sound as good as this one so I moved it on.

Re: New PRS Day!

Looks fantastic! I rarely see green guitars. I jones for SOMETHING in Sherwood Forest green.
