New pups for a 2000 Fender CS strat

I'm looking for some new 'pups for my good old strat. It's a Fender Custom pro from around 1998-2000, so no idea what pickups are currently installed. Only thing I know the curent ones don't cut it for the style I play (classic rock all the way up to metal) The pickup I'm looking for has to handle distortion really well, but also keep every string's “defenition”. The Dimarzio Injectors have caught my attention, but since I've never heard them live, I wouldn't mind some extra input.

Feel free to make other suggestions tho :fingersx: Fill me with your knowledge!

Thx in advance :smokin:

Re: New pups for a 2000 Fender CS strat

I play Strats myself and while I use full size humbuckers for heavy rock I have been really impressed with the Duncan stack Fury pickups. Especially for rock and classic rock tones. They have a little less high end (IMO) than a true single coil but that's part of the charm. I think they overall are better pickups than the DiMarzio HS-3 and HS-4 pickups b/c they sound great in the 2&4 positions as well as sounding great for cleans.

The new Duncan stk4 pickups sound great as well if you want a more 'vintage' tone/eq. I currently have a set of these in a strat and they sound closer to real vintage style single coils than any stack I've ever tried.

Don't know about the injectors. Haven't tried them.
