70s/80s rock and chicago blues is what i want this guitar set up for
i blocked off that PIA toy floyd thingy with chunks of maple and its rock solid.
now for a pair of good screamers bright and edgy with bottom end chunk.

i dont want mud!!

i thought jb or pearly gates for the bridge and ???? for the neck [2 pups only on this one]. its a strat rout but i guess i can reroute for another bucker if i really has to.

i was thinkin may a jb jnr or lil 59 for the neck but the seem pretty hot against the output of the jb and pg

Re: new pups for a charvette

the bridge jb is actually quite hot so pairing it against a jb jr or a lil 59 really isnt a problem...welcome to the forum!! what woods does your guitar use??

thhanks :)
umm not sure but its darn heavy.
I know some of these later [3 pickup] jobs were made of particle board or ply
but i doubt this one is particle - feels more like northern ash in weight. but it could be ply.

Had a quick look over it but there aint a bare 1/4" any where that aint covered in that thick black gunky finish

what do you reckon about the pearly gates???

Re: new pups for a charvette

a custom pickup could be cool in the bridge, its good for everything and not muddy. Think of it like someone neatly filed the best bass mids and treble together and put it in a single package. Its tight good for rock and blues and it just sounds great
