my current epi g400 has a 59'/DD set right now. but im importing over a schecter c1 blackjack over soon, and would like to make that my main metal/hardrock axe.

any great pickup combos for my SG? id like a more vintage/classic sound as opposed to the DD. really like the saves the day tone from their through with being cool album. the 59 neck is okay actually, could be overly bassy at times compared to the brighter bridge pickup. have heard good stuff about the VPAF necks.

Ah yes, I had a G400 with a similar combo, 59/JB and I do agree that the 59N is quite bassy. I guess if you want a more vintage vibe, you could try a 59 Bridge and an Alnico Pro II neck? Or maybe even going APII's all the way.

pearly gates neck and 59'bridge...or if you don't want a bright sound a set of seth lovers might be the ticket!!!
