I used to own this way back when. I added a middle pickup, the Kahler, and the 6 way switch to control it. It's from a Biamp mixer. Bought it in 85, sold it in 95. I always wondered what happened to it. Then last November, it showed up on Reverb at a stupid price. Since I was busy taking care of my dying father, I ignored it. Then a couple months ago it showed up on FB Marketplace, but by the time I got around to checking out, it was gone. Then it showed up at a local store I do business with. I had to go down and play it for old times, right? It's been changed - the pickups were replaced (used to be the stock Super 58's with gold covers). Parts of the whammy are missing, too. I had forgotten how heavy it was (a metric ton). Sat and played it quite awhile. All the pickups are microphonic as hell (the pair of black ones are newer PJ Marx units). Still had the original case, but it's seen a lot of use. Couldn't help myself, and worked out a deal with the store to bring it home. Played it for hours yesterday. Never should have sold it. BUT.... eventually, there will be some changes made.

That's the switch from the Biamp mixer. 6 push buttons - coil split, out of phase, in series, that kind of thing).

2 pickup selectors. I used to have them set up so I could select between the 2 rear pickups, and then select between the neck and the other two). Like I said, it's been rewired since then. Also, I never had a volume knob on it. That used to be the kill switch.

We shall see how it turns out in the future - no decision yet.

I've only seen a couple of those before. All stock though. Never played one. What does the neck feel like?

It's comfy, feels like a Les Paul to me. Nothing like a Wizard neck. Of course, it's a neck through so the heel is molded into the body pretty sleekly.

What's weird about the volume knob, Jeremy? If anything, it's the most normal control on the guitar.

weird placement, but the knob itself is not something i usually see on a guitar which is what i was talking about.

That's the stock bridge tone control position. And it's a little knob that appears to be from a stomp box or mixer.

Very cool, and the pw has aged nicely. I've never played an MC but people seem unanimous that they weigh like a planet . I've always like the shape. I think this model also came in candy apple red? Quite fetching.

Had it on the bench tonight to change the strings. While I was at it, I flipped it over and took off the rear cover and pulled the shielding can. I have either forgotten or never knew that Mike Metz wrote this inside when he wired it up for me back 1985. I laughed for 5 minutes.
