New Satriani amp is out!!!!!

Joe talks alot about that new amp in the latest Guitar Player...he's on the cover.

One VERY clean channel, one '59 Bassman channel (supposedly... ;) )and one distortion channel that is a little less distorted than the distortion channel in the Peavey XXX. Plus the resonance control of the 5150 only as an adjustable pot and not a three position switch.

120 watt tube amp! Where would a guy use that at? :D

I guess there are 4 options-

-Big concert

-Pull some tubes

-Power attenuator

-Bury the cab 12 feet under ground before you play it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will certainly be loud!

Yes it'll loud but don't bother pulling power tubes or using an attenuator it has a Master Volume and each of the gain channels has individual volume controls as well. It'll sound great at room level volume. I am very interested in the amp as well since I have a XXX and some of the things he got for his model are on my wishlist.

I'm hoping that there'll be a Combo version of the JSX. I have no use for a 120 watt amp. On the other hand, I'd be all over a 40 or 60 watt combo model.

Before shelling out a retail price on that, check my Bogner
for sale in the trader section. I'm keeping mine, but selling
a different one.

peavey has been known to string the heaters in series on some amps (classic, delta blues) so you might not be able to pull power tubes. 50 watts is all that is needed!!!! :D

I own an Ultra Plus (basis of the XXX and the JSX) It has 3 channels, 120 watts. The clean is quite nice, the gain channel is real close to a 5150 and the Ultra is close to the XXX. Main diff is that the XXX has 3 independant EQs. Mine has 2, one on the clean and one shared by Gain/ultra. Its a monster and has an incredibly lush reverb. Mine has 6l6 tubes and the JSX has EL34s. This should give it more of a Marshall type midrange. I have a Carvin MTS that I swapped 6l6s out and put EL34s in and it gave me more of a marshall mid voice.
Im sure the JSX is sweet!!!
