New SD Mark Holcomb Pickups - Scourge and Scarlet!

Looks like SD worked with Mark on a brand new set of pickups for his PRS signature guitars, also featured on the SE line this year!

Mark explains that the Scourge bridge has a different number of winds and an A8 mag. Doesn't really go into details about the Scarlet neck, though. :/

Still, very cool to see the Holcomb-PRS-Seymour Duncan trinity continuing!

No reason to think they’re not. Mark’s sig PRS came with the Alpha/Omega set in both the USA and SE, bet this is the same. If it wasn’t, the SE specs would indicate that.

I liked the Alpha/Omega but they lacked some low end push to my ears. Looking forward to these for sure since i dig A8 mag pickups.

Mark gave more info on the Scarlet in the video for the new 7-string SE. He said it was meant to be voiced more like a traditional neck pickup with a fatter and glassier character than the Alpha. I’m guessing Alnico 8 for the magnet for that one, too.

It would also seem that SD is replacing the Alpha/Omega set with these based upon the fact that they’re coming in all the new Holcomb models now and Mark’s own wording in the video.
