After years of reading and learning from these forums, I finally got around to replacing the pickups in my HSS strat. Custom trembucker in the bridge and SSL-5's in the middle and neck. I'm most impressed with the SSL-5! The custom is great and gives me what I thought the stock humbucker lacked, but the SSL-5's are perfect for what I wanted in the neck and middle. They match well with the custom in the bridge and clean up nicely when needed, but the dirty tones are worlds above the stock single coils. I was initially dead set on SSL-1's, but I'm glad I when with the 5. Very Happy!
