I just got some and had my amp bias with these Mullard single getter reissue'
Tho they are not the same UK Mallard. They are built almost to
identical spec's. They do have a very similar sonic signature
of the classic UK mullard. Infact they sound very good.
I had JJ EL34 LS swap out for these. Mike Matthew said the price
should go down 20% in a few months.
Has anyone else try these tubes yet?
I know I'll get the " I hate Mike Matthew buying the rights to the mullard name bit
and cloning the tubes ) But hey. They really sound great and that
all I care . Now if we'll see if they live up to the UK Mullard longevity.
They really make my VHT scream. they are bias hot @43 mv.
I did like the JJ's But to me these Mullard single getter reissue
just plain kick the JJ EL34LS's ass in tone and has a better
overdriven tone. Tight btm , Great mids and a smooth screaming
top end. ( Turn back the treble tho. These have more high end )
A pair of em' are $50.00 a pop.
But like I said they are bound to go down 20%.
once the market demands go up.
Don't knock em' till you really tried em'
Like I said they are getting good reponses from all the tube guy's and
guitarist.
They are really excellent tubes. Infact I just order more for back up & spares.
P.S I do like the JJ ECC83S . they seem to match the Mullards well.
