New Song "Apotheosis" - Full Production (Progressive/Alternative Metal)

I still remember when I posted one of my tone test clip quite a while back and I got some great responses.

Anyways, I just finished production on one of my songs and was hoping you guys would check it out and give me some critiques.

And since I only have 12 posts, I'll just share details on the production right away, in case anybody takes offense to my "shameless advertising".

Here's what I used for guitars:

about 85% lecto + a few mesa cab IRs.

Then 15% Blackstar ht5 mic-ed with a 57 and 421

Processing:
-tape saturation
-buss comp
-subtractive EQ

efx: a bit of reverb and chorus

Have you got some sound gated to the snare ? Overall I like the snare sound. The guitar sounds a bit murky in the mix. Interesting stuff.

I don't really understand your question, but the snare is a combination of a real snare and several different samples. It was also parallel compressed which made the sustain louder, maybe that was what you were hearing?

I get what you mean by the murkiness though. I think I might have filtered it too aggressively but soundcloud always dulls my mixes slightly both in the highs and lows.
