New song - countryish?

The 'GuitarStv learning to write songs with vocals' odyssey continues. . . This one didn't exactly come out the way I was originally thinking it would - but at this point it's as close to done as it's going to get. Ugh, not my usual genre.

Well, I made it to the second song before selling out at least.


Originally strummed it out on the guitar and heard something in my head that was like one of those old '50s type ballads . . . which maybe translated into an overly simplistic song structure. I really wanted to make a riff happen in the chorus, and tried about six or seven different ideas but nothing sat right . . . so ended up doing the slide noodling instead.
