New Speaker /odd amp activity ?

Hello, I'm new to solid state amps and wondered if we had any gurus around here that might have an answer. I have a little fender champion 110 which I use for practice and friendly jam sessions. I got a great deal on an Emi Rajin Cajun. Total transformation and way better tone from this cheap lil guy. The amp is also much louder at a given volume than before. The odd part is on the clean channel the amp still has a decent amount of volume when the volume is completely turned down. I don't know if this is an amp problem or due to the efficiency of the rajin Cajun. Both the factory speaker and the rc are 8 ohms. triple checked for correct connections. Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm worried to use it because I don't want to fry the amp . Thanks ahead of time...

You are not going to hurt anything.
Not sure how that amp is set up.....but it is probably just the volume pot not going all the way to ground...leaking a little.
No worries.
nice speaker...enjoy

There's nothing to worry about at all. I installed a Rajun Cajun in both my Fender Frontman 25R and my 1993 Fender Champion 30 . I also got the same results as you did , which were better tone and much more volume as well. Those are well built speakers which really enchanced the sound of those amps.
