New Strat, pup decision!

Hello hello everyone. i got my Fender American Strat in last night, sunburst, maple fretboard. I really like the pickups on it. Theyre alnico 5 magnets and it sounds really good. Im contemplating wether or not i should get some antiquities. It might just be that i love the sound so much because ive been dying for a real strat with some single coils rather than some high output mess. I know Lew has a strat with a Custom Tex hot in the bridge and surfers in the neck and middle. I was wondering if that set would be right in this guitar. I like tight bass and sparkly quick highs, but i want a little more midrange and a hotter sound in the bridge pup, ill also like to use all of the pups together( no splitting ) and i want the guitar to sing. would a cust.tex.hot bridge/ surfers neck and middle suit me?
Thanks-
Alex

Re: New Strat, pup decision!

I'd suggest playing your new strat a bit before making a decision for some new ones. Then, if you do decide on new ones, you'll have a better idea what you want and what you don't.

I have one of the new strats I got a few months back, and I think the stock pickups sound fine, and the wiring now is done the way I like - with "master" tone for the mid and bridge. The bridge pickup is also wound somewhat hotter - like they should be.

Just enjoy your new ax!
