I have a mexican strat and not only do i hate the look but i hate how the saddles feel. I dont know call me crazy but they just dont seem right. I have researched new saddles and they are around 35 bucks. They are some kind of stainless steel and suppose to improve sustain. Will they make my guitar sound different or are those just sayings to sell their product?

Stainless saddles will make your guitar sound a bit different. Whether it's better or worse is up to you and your ears.

Re: New string saddles

Maybe try graphtech string savers. I like the feel of them, and they supposed increase sustain and improve tone.

Re: New string saddles

I just put Graphtech saddles on LesStrat a couple of weeks ago. But I've only gotten to play him once since then. No noticeable change in tone, but the intonation is better/more consistent, and it looks and feels better.

I bought the PS 8000-00 String Savers. I ordered from an ebay store in Arkansas. They treated me right (I think I paid $33 including shipping, give or take a $).

Re: New string saddles

I usually just buy a cheap asain replacement tremolo with cast zinc saddles and use the saddles. They feel better and have better tone and sustain.

Re: New string saddles

what kind of saddles are on the american standard strat? I love the way they look and feel when palm muting.
