New Style Vs Old Style?

Hi All!
Can anyone tell me what the new style vs old style thing is on the tone chart? I dont know if anyone else feels this way but the "old styles" virtualy all sound better to me? What has Seymour done to our beloved P/Us to change them. I was about to order a set of cool rails but now I'm not sure. The "new style" doesn't sound quite as articulate. What gives?

Well, the new style doesn't catch my strings and can fit in EMG pickup routes, so I don't really care if they sound a bit different.

I'm pretty sure that the sound samples are supposed to show how similar they are. All they did was extend the cover down to the side so it doesn't catch a string.

Really?! Must just be the power of suggestion making me here a difference. It wouldn't be the first time:scratchch . When did they do that?

Wow, that's a great article!! I hadn't seen it before ...

One other difference is that the Vintage Rails went from 2-Conductor to 4-Conductor.

Wow, I never noticed that (I've only used the hot and cools rails in the new style). What to vintage rails sound like wired in series instead of in parallel?

reading that article, i noticed that the Li'l Screamin Demon is abbreviated as LSD. now i want one in my strat just so i can say 'i play a fender strat with two 60's fender single coils and LSD in the bridge.'
